Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or PIH, refers to the dark marks left behind after the skin has been irritated or inflamed. It is especially common in skin of color and can sometimes last much longer than the original breakout, rash, or injury itself.
